Premium Kiln-Dried Firewood for Fireplaces and Outdoor Pits

ButlerWood firewood is kiln-dried hardwood sourced, cut, and treated on our own Central Texas land. Every box, split, and pallet starts with healthy trees harvested through our in-house land clearing operation, then seasons naturally in the Texas sun before moving to our certified kiln. Our drying process heats each piece to a minimum of 160°F for 75 minutes per USDA schedule T314-c, so the wood that shows up at your home or business is consistent, low in moisture content, and ready to burn.

Whether you are heating your home during the winter or lighting an outdoor fire pit, our wood provides a cleaner burn with less smoke and creosote buildup than standard air-dried options.

Firewood Species Guide: Choosing the Right Burn

Each species has unique burn characteristics and aromatic properties. Use this guide to find the right firewood options for your setup.

Post oak is the standard for Texas wood burning. It is a dense hardwood that provides a steady, long-lasting flame without excessive popping or sparking. Pinon firewood is a favorite for outdoor fire pits because of its distinct, pleasant fragrance and natural ability to deter mosquitoes. Juniper firewood offers a similar aromatic experience with a sweet scent and a quick ignition time, making it excellent for getting a fire going quickly on a cold night.

Wood Burn Time Aroma Best For
Post Oak Long Mild & Clean Home heating, long-lasting fires
Pinon Medium Iconic Southwest Pine Outdoor pits, keeping away insects
Juniper Medium Sweet & Peppery Fireplaces, fast starting heat

Pallets, Cords, and Boxes: Finding Your Order Size

The right firewood order depends on how often you burn and how much storage space you have available.

      Firewood Boxes

Perfect for a single weekend at the cabin or a few nights by the fire pit. These boxes are portable, easy to stack in a garage, and keep your space clean.

      Firewood Pallets

Our most popular option for residential customers. Pallets are delivered in a compact manner and are easy to store on a porch or in a shed.

      Full Cord of Firewood

Built for those who rely on a wood stove or fireplace as a primary heat source. A full cord locks in a lower price per cubic foot and ensures you have enough wood to last through the cold months.

If you are a high-volume user, a truck load or bulk delivery is the most cost-effective way to buy. Our team can help you calculate the amount of wood you need based on your typical burn rate.

      Sourcing & Certification

ButlerWood sources its kiln-dried firewood from Central Texas land clearing projects we run ourselves. Unlike many other firewood dealers, we fell, cut, split, and season every piece on our own yards in Seguin and Gonzales. This is how we keep quality consistent from one pallet to the next.

All of our products meet USDA schedule T314-c, heated to a minimum interior temperature of 160°F for at least 75 minutes. We operate under Texas Compliance Agreements TDA-538, TDA-534, and TDA-540, and we are proud members of Go Texan.

Our vertically integrated supply chain, including in-house trucking, means we control the product end to end. This allows us to provide a better total price and direct oversight on every firewood sale.

      Firewood FAQs

Kiln-dried wood has been placed in a high-temperature oven to reduce moisture content to a specific level. This process makes the wood easier to light, allows it to burn hotter, and kills any insects or mold.

The standard method of sale for bulk wood is the cord. A full cord is 128 cubic feet, typically stacked 4 feet high, 4 feet wide, and 8 feet long. We also offer a face cord, which is a single stack of wood usually measuring 4 feet high by 8 feet long.

High moisture wood (green wood) is difficult to light and produces a lot of smoke. It also causes creosote buildup in chimneys, which can lead to fires. Our kiln-dried wood is ready to burn immediately upon delivery.

Most residential users do not need a permit for personal use. However, we maintain all necessary firewood permits and a vendor license to transport and sell wood across state lines, ensuring you receive a legal and safe product.

Every sales invoice or delivery ticket from ButlerWood will list the quantity, wood type, and total price. This ensures transparency and confirms you received the exact amount of wood ordered.

Keep your wood off the ground and protected from rain. A covered wood rack or shed with open sides for airflow is best. Proper storage maintains the low moisture level achieved in our kiln.
