Job Overview

We are seeking a Commercial Truck Driver to join our team! You will be responsible for safely operating a truck with a capacity of 80,000 pounds Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW). Our routes usually allow drivers to leave on Sunday/Monday and be home by Friday. We have dedicated load and unload points from our yard in Seguin Texas to Arkansas, Wisconsin, West Virginia, Ohio and other states across the US.

Key Responsibilities

• Safely operate a semi truck and dry van and/or flat bed trailer
• Transport finished goods and raw materials to and from manufacturing site to customer warehouses
• Report any issues or incidents to dispatch
• Inspect vehicles for mechanical items and safety issues and perform preventative maintenance
• Plan routes and meet delivery schedules
• Document and log work/rest periods and miles spent driving and retain fuel/toll receipts
• Comply with truck driving rules and regulations (size, weight, route designations, parking and break periods) as well as with company policies and procedures
• Maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions
• Collect and verify delivery instructions

Skills

• Proven work experience as a truck driver
• Experience hauling both dry vans and flatbeds is preferred.
• Experience with self loading and unloading with a ride along donkey forklift would be preferred but not required.
• Commercial Class A drivers license
• Ability to drive long hours and travel regularly
• Basic knowledge of applicable truck driving rules and regulations
• No recent moving or driving violations
• Adaptability and foresight to handle unexpected situations (traffic, weather conditions etc)
• Strong work ethic
• Ability to handle Physical workload
