Sales Representative / Sales Manager

Reports to: Owner/CEO
Compensation: Up to $150,000/year (base + commission + bonuses)

Job Overview

At ButlerWood, we provide premium firewood, cooking wood, and land clearing services to restaurants, BBQ enthusiasts, homeowners, and developers nationwide. As a Sales Representative (with a growth path to Sales Manager), your mission is to grow our $7M business toward our $125M market potential through lead generation, relationship building, and structured follow-up across multiple channels.

This role requires a driven and strategic thinker with excellent organizational skills, CRM discipline, and the hustle to land and nurture high-value accounts. You will own the full sales cycle—from lead gathering to deal closing and customer onboarding.

Key Responsibilities

Lead Generation & Prospecting

  • Identify and organize high-quality leads from:
  • Segment prospects by opportunity size and vertical.

Sales Execution

  • Develop outreach campaigns (email, SMS, cold calls, site visits) to convert leads into customers.
  • Educate leads on ButlerWood’s products, delivery systems, and services.
  • Perform demos or send samples where strategic.
  • Close sales using value-based selling (firewood type, reliability, burn rate calculation, etc.).
  • Develop “burn rate” estimates for restaurants to establish delivery schedules.
  • Convert one-time sales into repeat delivery accounts.

Account Management & Roll-off Strategy

  • Maintain strong relationships and high satisfaction across accounts.
  • Strategically pass mature accounts (18+ months active) to fulfillment/ops teams while continuing to hunt new business.

Sales Management & Reporting (for manager-level)

  • Track all activity using CRM (Zoho or similar).
  • Build and train future sales reps.
  • Forecast monthly/quarterly sales and report progress to leadership.
  • Collaborate with ops for delivery planning and inventory management.

Compensation Plan (Up to $150,000/year)

Base Salary:

  • $55,000/year (starting)

Commissions:

  • Wood Sales
  • Land Clearing Sales

Bonuses:

  • New Customer Activation Bonus
  • Strategic Account Bonus
  • Annual Target Bonus

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • Proven sales experience (wood, foodservice, logistics, or construction background a plus)
  • Self-starter who thrives on hunting leads and closing
  • Highly organized and CRM-disciplined
  • Excellent communicator and educator
  • Strong understanding of product-market fit and upselling

  • Collaboration with delivery/logistics teams for scheduling
